It has started

The busy time.  In the past week orders have started to pour in and part of me is super excited at doing some the new ideas that some customers have come up with and another part is afraid...very afraid after last year;)  I am trying to get some fresh ideas going and have started a Monster Mash Up of hats for the fall.  Pie outgrew his hat from last year and asked for a monster hat after I made the orange monster and diaper cover set.  He told me what he wanted.  A green head with yellow horns and one big eye and one little eye.  It came out great.  Pictures coming soon:)  Along with some new lovies and diaper covers, I am one busy hooking mama!

I am currently planning to do a photo shoot with Rachel Weber Photography and SimplyTutu.  I will be looking for some models soon:)  Check out their pages and see the awesome work of two great ladies.  I am excited to see what I can get created before and I am always looking for fresh ideas!

Who am I kidding?

I really do try...really! But life happens and I forget about this little blog of mine:) It has been a crazy summer and it is already July.  JULY!!!  Kindergarten is approaching fast and if I think about Due going too much, my heart starts pounding and I need to breathe into a brown paper bag.  To top off that, AB has officially won and Pie is headed off to preschool on the exact same day as Due headed to school.  What cruel person decided to have both my children leave me on the same day which just happens to be the day after my birthday?  I guess that would be me.....(((Sigh)))  I never thought I would be the mom that would cry at the thought of my children growing up.  I know they aren't mine forever, just for a few short moments before they make their way out of my home and into their own journey.

On the flip side, this gives me more time to hook and not feel guilty about making the boys stay home with me to get it done.  I have officially started the fall samples.  In a few months, I am doing a photo shoot to get great pics from Rachel Weber Photography.  Her work is great, by the way.  I am too excited to hold out completely and will give you a sneaky sneak peek:)

Honestly, last year I hated MAKING this hat but LOVED the end result.  After my first year of selling and doing this, I don't mind making this hat and kind of want to make one in every color...a turtle hat rainbow:)  Imagine!

I have also have been lucky enough to get a lot of exposure with my friend Rachel and her photography.  She has been using my stuff as props and returning me great pictures...check it out

Maybe posting pictures of sweet babies wasn't the best of ideas.  I mean I am feeling a bit like my babies are driving away from me at warp speed.   Brown paper bag...STAT!

Back on Track

I have been working really hard lately.  After the Christmas season and crazy days where I did nothing but hook for a month and a half, I am now preparing for a my first festival.  I am trying to make up non custom items that allow me to put out product but more importantly get my name out there.  I am trying really hard to make this successful enough that I never have to return to the "regular" work force.

Due will be going to school next year, which will give me more time but I am torn between taking advantage of that for work and spending more time with Pie.  He will not be going to preschool until next year.  AB thinks he should go now because he is such a momma's boy but I don't see the problem yet.  He is only 3 years old.

So I am spending these days with my two favorite boys and my nights working like a mad woman.  I have really gotten into the animals, plus they sell a lot better in the spring;)

So wish me luck!  I will get better about posting here and can't wait to see what this season holds:)
